Robert Reich: The Stall Has Arrived →
robertreich: The economy has stalled. Friday’s jobs report for April was even more disappointing than March. Employers added only 115,000 new jobs, down from March’s number (the Bureau of Labor Statistics revised the March number upward to 154,000, but that’s still abysmal relative to what’s needed). We…

Y York gave me a signed copy as a gift while we worked on the premier of Woof.  The original cast and designers were all acknowledged.  Wow.  A first for me.  It’s a great gift to create.  I see that it is an even greater gift to create with others.  Thanks Y!

robertreich: Not only is the United States slouching toward a double dip, but so is Europe. New data out today show even Europe’s strongest core economies – Germany, France, and the Netherlands – slowing to a crawl. We’re on the cusp of a global recession. Policy makers be warned: Austerity is the wrong…

robertreich: Anyone who characterizes the deal between the President, Democratic, and Republican leaders as a victory for the American people over partisanship understands neither economics nor politics. It is amazing how bureaucracies haven’t kept up with technologies. In about 6 months, I will be able to buy a six-pack of beer by waving my phone at the register. Try filing papers at a county court… It’s like walking through a time warp.

robertreich: President Obama has chosen to fight fire with gasoline. Republicans want America to believe the economy is still lousy because government is too big, and the way to revive the economy is to cut federal spending. Today (Sunday) Republican Speaker John Boehner even refused to rule out a government…

Lilith.: Hot Topic: Short Films. →
It’s always been one of the most difficult questions to answer in filmmaking: do I make a feature or a short film? I find myself asking this question now as, in an epiphany of sorts at 3am last night, I came up with a lovely idea for a short film. Why make short films? Everyone has their reasons…. very nice post.

Apparently
we trust in many things less important than the history that is taught to us.  There is no more an egregious thing than lying about the facts of the past for your own gain.
